I was lonely. I wanted an alive wife with me in the Underworld. One day when I was walking the Overworld, sad as ever, I spotted a girl. I didn’t know then but this was Persephone. Persephone was the daughter of Zeus & Demeter. I wanted her to become the dreaded goddess of the Underworld. I knew her parents would not accept my want for her. So I decided a more forceful approach would be more prudent. I kidnapped her and took her to the Underworld.
Once she woke up she looked around and ran.
I was walking down the streets in North Vilabin. In my head I was thinking ‘Those bullies were even more hostile than usual, I should probably get something to protect myself just in case.’ I went into the weapons shop, bought the cheapest, yet decent, weapon I could find. I decided to make my way home. When I was close I) llhear a lot of metal clicking and clacking together. It was a massive group of people with guns. I saw loads of temples in ruins.
“What happened here?” I asked in distress.
“Oh, hi Aloi. The Kamapouse is back!” replied my friend in the same tone as me, who was in the crowd with guns.
Suddenly, the Kamapouse pounced onto the front of the group. The only colour we could see was red. We all opened fire. The Kamapouse was getting closer to me & was hitting all the people in his way. I ran. The Kamapouse was chasing after me. I remembered the Kamapouse’s weakness. On the back of his head is a mushroom. If you pull it off, it’ll die. So I turned around. I circled the Kamapouse and got on its back, quickly pulling the mushroom. I fell and got knocked out. The last thing I saw was the Kamapouse dying.
When I woke up I was a hero. Bloodstained and in pain, but a hero.
Task One: Copy one stanza and explain what it means in 5 sentences.
I looked upon the rotting sea,
And drew my eyes away;
I looked upon the rotting deck,
And there the dead men lay
Question 1: Why did the poet repeat this phrase?
I think the poet repeated the phrase to focus on his feelings as he looks at the sea the same way as his dead crew members.
I would keep it in 3rd person as dead people can’t write stories. But if I wrote it in first person I would have it in the perspective of the soldier because you could see if anyone else had tried to cross the river/lake.
‘First day on the job’, I think, ‘Why am I worrying?’ I see a rifle being taken off of the gun rack. ‘Oh yeah, because my job involves shooting people.’ They hand the gun to me and a box full of ammunition. I nod to my officer and walk to my post at the bridge. Hope I don’t have to shoot anyone on my first day.

The western wave was all aflame – I think this means that the rays of the sun are reflecting off of the sea.
Without a breeze, without a tide – I think this means that their isn’t any wind and that the wind is calm.
We could laugh nor wail – they were so thirsty that they couldn’t laugh away the feeling or wail and cry with a dry throat.
The book I am reading is Timmy Failure: Now Look What You’ve Done
Who were the main characters? Did you like or
dislike them? Why?
The main characters are Timmy Failure & his polar bear pet and business partner Total. I like them both because Total is smarter than Timmy, even though he is a polar bear as Timmy thinks he is the best detective ever but he isn’t that clever.
How did the characters respond to events and
each other in each text?
Timmy overlooks things and says things like ‘all on the path to greatness’ while Total doesn’t really care & Timmy sometimes dislikes Total as he’s very lazy and.
What was similar or different in key aspects of the
plot, setting and language of the text, compared
to other texts?
The way that story is written stays the same as it’s written by Timmy himself as a sort of diary. At the beginning of the book, Timmy takes a head off a statue and breaks his leg and when he goes back to where he broke his leg and the statue still has no head.
